Companies developing creative sharing and co-work space isn’t exactly news. But it becomes news when a company is directing the co-work space to a demographic other than millennials. Brooklyn-headquartered Industrious, which raised $25 million with help from Riverwood Capital, plans to open co-work hubs in New York City, Los Angeles and St. Louis, geared toward the older worker.
“WeWork is a wonderful environment for twenty-somethings, and was clearly built with male engineers in mind,” Industrious CEO Jamie Hodari told Tech Crunch. “Industrious is a better fit for customers that are a bit older and looking for a slightly more premium product that feels welcoming, inclusive and comfortable.”
The Industrious offices have private glass offices, quieter and classy common spaces and relaxation spots, along with surprise treats. Industrious reaches out not only to entrepreneurs, but also to established businesses that might need extra office space.
