Jack Rudin, chairman of New York City-based Rudin Management Co., has died at age 92. The cause of death was not immediately known.
Rudin was part of the second generation that oversaw Rudin Management, a 92-year-old real estate company with a massive portfolio that includes 345 Park Ave.; 3 Times Square and 1 Battery Park Place. Rudin had a hand in developing all three properties.
In addition to serving as chairman of the company, Rudin was also president. His main focus was construction and operations, while brother Lewis (who died in 2001) was the company’s public face. Rudin Properties launched in 1905, when Rudin’s grandfather, an immigrant from Belarus, bought his first property.
Rudin is survived by his wife, three children, and several grandchildren.
