Rent the Runway Trades Hudson Square for Dumbo

Rent the Runway, an online service that provides designer dress and accessory rentals, will occupy the top four floors of Glacier Global Partners’ 10 Jay St. development in Dumbo. A CBRE team of Frederick Fackelmayer, Alex Benisatto and Sam Mann represented the tenant in the 83,051-square-foot lease.

Founded in 2009, Rent the Runway is relocating from 345 Hudson St. in Manhattan’s Hudson Square neighborhood. The fashion retailer plans to move to its new space in 2020.

“Rent the Runway represents the largest lease signed in Dumbo in nearly five years,” said Fackelmayer, who has arranged 420,000 square feet of leases in Brooklyn since 2014.

“This is significant for the Brooklyn market, as the brand is the latest highly successful creative company to relocate to the borough from Manhattan,” he added.

JLL represented Glacier Global Partners in the deal.
