Prestige Properties & Development Co. is taking advantage of vacant space at the Office Bay Plaza to renovate the building with a new roof, front entry and landscaping.
“We are excited to revitalize the office component of the complex,” noted Sam Shalem, chairman and CEO of Prestige, the owner and developer of Bay Plaza, a two million-square-foot mixed-use development in the North Bronx just off the Hutchinson River Parkway.
The four-story office building at 2100 Bartow, which opened in 1988, is 33% vacant, representing the first first major vacancy in almost 30 years. Prestige is taking the opportunity to freshen the 206,730-square-foot office building to match the design of nearby new construction. In 2014, Prestige opened The Mall at Bay Plaza, the first new enclosed mall in the area in 40 years.
Colliers is handling leasing for the office building. Renovation will start in early 2017.
