In the lead-up to today’s ICSC Southern California Idea Exchange at the Long Beach Convention Center, Connect Media reached out for a few comments from industry leaders you will see in attendance.

John Mehigan, Regency Centers: “I’m excited to see ICSC back in Long Beach, which is the city where I live and that I’m so proud of. It’s been five years since the conference was held here and I hope tenants and brokers take note of how Long Beach is now booming! On your way home, drive through downtown, the traffic circle, or 2nd and PCH!!”

Daniel Herrold, Stan Johnson Company: “The ICSC SoCal Idea Exchange is a great way to kick off the year networking with commercial real estate professionals. It’s a much smaller, more intimate setting where true networking and deal making can take place, and it gives developers an opportunity to discuss their 2020 plans with real estate brokers, investors, lenders, and prospective tenants. I expect key buzz words like “de-malling,” “densification” and “converting to mixed use” will be used a lot as retail projects take on much more flavor in 2020.

Shauna Mattis, JLL: New decade, new retail. What does the future look like for retail in 2020 and beyond? That’s what the upcoming Southern California Idea Exchange conference in Long Beach promises to deliver. For me personally, the retail runway portion of the program is always a highlight, and I’m excited to learn about the growth plans for active retailers in our market as well as have an opportunity to network with peers in the industry.

Connect Retail West is coming to Newport Coast, CA on Feb. 13. For more information, or to register, click here.
