Rose Garden Complex Upgrade to Cost $18M

The city of Tyler released its estimated cost for upgrading its Rose Garden Complex. The $17.6 million cost will include $9.3 million dedicated to building a new Harvey Hall. The remainder will be used for street improvements, trails and construction of a new city park.

The Rose Garden Complex master plan steering committee signed off on the proposed site plan which, in addition to the famed Tyler Rose Garden, includes the Tyler Civic Theatre, Mayfair concert hall and the East Texas State Fairground.

The master plan will now go before the Tyler Parks Board on May 22, 2017, and then the Tyler City Council in early June, 2017 for final approval. Funding will be allocated to the project as money becomes available.
