San Antonio’s data center market saw a very strong first half of the year, with four megawatts of pre-leased space being delivered by CyrusOne, CBRE reported. In both San Antonio and Central Texas’ other significant data center market, Austin, COVID-19 didn’t seem to have as much of an impact as it did in other U.S. markets, according to a CBRE report covering both cities.
“Multiple deals that had been in process in both Austin and San Antonio continued as planned and on schedule,” the report states.
“Austin continues to be a tech-enterprise-focused market with smaller user requirements, while San Antonio has made its name as an ideal spot for large cloud requirements,” according to CBRE. Between them, San Antonio and the comparatively small Austin market have about 163.7 MW of inventory, and “the overall outlook of these markets appears to be very positive.”
