It looks like there might be more San Diego cruise ships in the future.
More tourists around the Pacific Ocean are apparently increasing demand for tourism in the region. The Mexican Riviera has reportedly seen an increase in demand for tourists wanting to visit that locale. A possible increase in visitors will surely increase the demand for hotel, retail and restaurant services.
But there is still a long way to go. Only 170,000 passengers are expected between this year and 2016, down from nearly a million between 2007 and 2008. Holland America, the largest operator of cruise ships in San Diego, however, is betting that demand will increase and is upping its service.
