San Diego is the fourth-largest convention city in the United States, according to a survey done by tech-meeting firm Cvent. The study took into consideration not only shows held at convention centers in U.S. cities but also at hotels in various locales.
San Diego was the only city in California to make Cvent’s top-10 list. San Francisco was 14th, while Los Angeles hit number 20.
The survey was released at a time when a proposal is being considered to expand the San Diego bayfront Convention Center. The results of that proposal should be released by the end of August.
The top meeting cities in the country before San Diego, in order of most attended, are Orlando, Las Vegas and Chicago, the report said.
