Developer San Germaine LLC received approval from the San Marcos City Council to apply for tax credits from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TCHCA) for the proposed Villas Del San Xavier Senior Community. The 156-unit development at 2621 S. Interstate 35 in San Marcos, TX, is planned as a low-income senior community.
The development is geared to make up a portion of the larger Plaza Royale Senior Community development. A minimum of 4% of the project units will be set aside for hearing-impaired or visually-impaired individuals, according to the City Council’s resolution.
The development will also need to comply with the city’s recently updated Transportation Master Plan, by taking motorist, pedestrian and cyclist safety into account. Furthermore, infrastructure must be developed in an environmentally-sensitive manner.
