Poultry processor Sanderson Farms has opened shop on 17.5 acres in the Lindale Business Park in the East Texas town of Lindale. The company invested $18 million to build administrative offices and a hatchery. Management and technicians relocated into the offices, and equipment in the hatchery is being calibrated for arrival of the new facility’s first eggs.
The Lindale facility represents Sanderson Farms’ fourth campus in Texas. Upon buildout (Q1 2019), the $200 million complex will employ 1,700, require 80 contract growers, and will be equipped to process and sell approximately 275 million pounds of dressed poultry meat annually. The poultry company has operations in Smith and Woods Counties, as well as a feed-and-rail facility in Mineola, TX. The company also operates two facilities in Palestine, TX, in Anderson County, which employs 1,600.
The 137-acre Lindale Business Park is at Interstate 20 and Harvey Road, just west of Tyler, TX. It is owned and operated by the Lindale Economic Development Corp.
