Responding to population growth in its hometown of Sioux Falls, SD, Sanford Health recently announced several construction projects collectively valued at $209 million.
They include a 42,000-square-foot clinic at 57th and Veterans Parkway on the city’s east side, a new orthopedic hospital and expansions to the existing Sanford Heart Hospital, and the Van Demark Building on the campus of Sanford USD Medical Center.
“The population of Sioux Falls is growing,” said Sanford Health’s Dr. Brian Aamlid. “We’re starting to expand our service zone. You might say people are coming from bigger distances for medical care. I think medical care in Sioux Falls is at a high level but it can continue to get better and better.”
Sanford Health’s projects aren’t confined to Sioux Falls. The nonprofit healthcare network will also build a clinic in Harrisburg, SD, just outside the city.
