Schiff Hardin LLP signed a lease extension for the firm’s flagship office in Chicago’s iconic 110-story Willis Tower. The firm retains about 181,000 square feet in the 1,450-foot building, consolidating operations on floors 71 through 75.
The space will be upgraded with new state-of-the-art reception and conference facilities that incorporate new technologies and support the firm’s culture and style of work. The law firm has been an anchor tenant in the building since the structure’s completion in 1973.
Blackstone acquired Willis Tower in 2015, and announced a $500-million renovation to the building earlier this year in conjunction with Equity Office. The building will be transformed and reinforced as a modernized civic destination and the ultimate workplace. It is the first major renovation in the 85%-occupied building’s 43-year history.
CBRE’s Kyle Kamin represented Schiff Hardin. Telos’ Jamey Dix, Joy Jordan and Maggie Brophy represented Equity Office in the transaction.
