Second Ave. Subway Gives Relief

The number of people who ride the Second Avenue Subway has exploded to an average 176,000 every weekday, up from just 124,000 during its whole first week running. The MTA is already added trains, starting with an extra Uptown and an extra Downtown train.

Meanwhile, the number of riders crammed into overcrowded 4/5/6 trains has dropped 40% during morning rush hour, and 26% overall. As a result, wait times are down because it’s easier to keep the trains moving when not overstuffed.

Maybe that makes it a little easier to rent an apartment on the 4/5/6 line. At least your prospective tenants might be in a better mood.
