Real estate investment and development firm Smith & Douglas Investments is building a 48,000-square-foot, three-story office building in McKinney, TX’s Craig Ranch. The reason? The firm, currently based in Frisco, TX, wants to leave behind the traffic congestion prevalent at Legacy Drive near the Sam Rayburn Tollway.
The company had developed its current office at 1518 Legacy Plaza and, according to Colby Smith, one of the partners, Smith & Douglas wants to get ahead of the growth in McKinney. “This is closer to where we are living now, and driving up Legacy Drive at 5 p.m. in Frisco has gotten more crowded,” he told the Dallas Business Journal.
Bates Martin Architect is the projects architect, and Links Construction is the general contractor. The property, called 2 Greenside, will be ready for occupancy by May 2017.
