Venice, CA-based Snap Inc., parent company of Snapchat, is taking 300,000 square feet of space at Blackstone’s Santa Monica Business Park. The rapidly growing social media company also has an additional 100,000-square-foot option at the 12-building, one-million-square-foot Santa Monica campus.
Snap plans to retain its offices at several Venice locations, and last year signed a 79,000-square-foot deal for office and hangar space at Santa Monica Airport. The company has grown to more than 1,500 employees, primarily in Los Angeles.
Features for the popular mobile chat app will continue to be developed, but Snap is also moving toward user-generated content for news stories and seeks to partner with studios to develop shows for the app.
