Steppenwolf Shopping Around Yondorf Hall, Wants $20M

Steppenwolf Theatre has opted to sell a landmark building at 758 W. North Ave. in Chicago. The organization hopes to receive at least $20 million for the sale of Yondorf Hall, a four-story, 27,492-square-foot building that is being used for offices. Steppenwolf indicated its willingness to move out of the space, or negotiate a lease with the buyer, according to a flyer from Eastil Secured, which is marketing the building.

Though Yondorf Hall has landmark status, which protects it from demolition, a buyer could use the parking lot to increase commercial space on the site. The move comes just as Steppenwolf expanded its theater complex at 1650 N. Halsted St.
