Sterling Bay’s Spec Warehouse Breaks Ground in Darien

Premier Design + Build Group has broken ground on a 153,000-square-foot speculative warehouse in Darien, IL for Sterling Bay. Completion on the project, located within the region’s I-55 industrial corridor, is expected for November.

“Infill sites of this size and quality, with great visibility on I-55, are very rare,” said Mark Barbato, Sterling Bay’s director, industrial division. “We’re excited to deliver this project to the market, and we’re already seeing strong tenant interest.” NAI Hiffman has been tapped to lease the project.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Premier president/owner Alan Zocher said the facility “will be a true asset to Sterling Bay and to the city of Darien.”

Located at 1035 S. Frontage Rd., the warehouse will offer 30-foot clear height ceilings. Premier and Sterling Bay are teaming with Cornerstone Architects Ltd. for architectural design services and Spaceco for civil engineering.
