Stone Brewing Plans Boutique Hotel

Stone Brewing plans to develop Stone Hotel, a 99-room, $26-million boutique property in Escondido, CA. The four-story, 100,000-square-foot hotel will be developed under a license to Untitled Hospitality, which will own and operate the property.

The ground-up development project is envisioned as an extension of Stone’s popular craft brewery and restaurant. Stone founder Greg Koch says they’ll combine environmental, cultural and culinary experiences.

Stone Hotel will include such elements as outdoor showers for some rooms, food-anywhere service, in-room growler delivery, a “kinetic sculpture” elevator and a four-story, light-filled atrium. Rooms will be roughly 50% larger than typical, and include floor-to-ceiling window systems that flip open.

San Diego-based BASILE Studio is handling the interior design. Construction at the 13-acre site is slated to begin next spring, with completion expected Q1 2018.
