Strada broke ground on 1629 Market Street, a 600,000-square-foot project at the corner of Brady and Market Street in San Francisco’s emerging Mid-Market neighborhood. The mixed-use development will consist of three nine-story residential buildings with 443 apartment units over a shared below-grade parking garage.

Also planned is a five-story residential building with 96 affordable units. The project includes 15,000 square feet of amenity space and common areas, 9,000 square feet of street-level retail space, and 23,400 square feet of privately-owned public open space.

The first phase of construction is slated to be completed in early 2022 and will offer both market-rate and 96 supportive housing units for formerly homeless individuals, which is a co-development with the non-profit Community Housing Partnership. The project also features more than a half-acre of open space to serve as a community amenity.

Suffolk is providing preconstruction and construction services for the project.
