Students Tour Newark’s TRYP by Wyndham Hotel

The Berger Organization showed off its new TRYP by Wyndham Hotel at 24 E. Park St. in downtown Newark, NJ to a group of interior design students from Brookdale Community College.

“The students got a firsthand glimpse into the transformation that will turn this location into a premier hospitality destination in Newark,” said interior designer Blanche Garcia, who hosted the students as an extension of her participation at a recent student career day.

Workers are now renovating the old St. Francis Hotel to become the TRYP. Garcia’s design includes Newark references including a giant replica of Thomas Edison’s light bulb, a graffiti wall showcasing poetry from Newark’s “Wordstock” poetry convention, and cherry vine details referring to the cherry blossom festival held in nearby Branch Brook Park.
