The city of Sugar Land, TX is updating its Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan. The plan was last renewed in 2005. According to Parks and Recreation Director Joe Chesser, obtaining suggestions from the community, updating the plan, and implementing it can take several years.
He added that the plan, which would be adopted late next year, could include sports facilities. Chesser indicated that the girls’ softball teams have grown over the years, and that there has been interest in adult sports facilities as well.
The Master Plan requires public input before moving to the Sugar Land Parks Art Recreation and Streetscapes board. From there, it will end up with the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council.
