SUNY Building Getting $63M Upgrade

EW Howell Construction Group won the $63 million job to redevelop the Student Services Building at the State University of New York at Stony Brook University at 100 Nicolls Rd in Stony Brook, NY.

Construction on a gut renovation and addition to the 1960s building began in February 2017, with the complete interior demolition of the old, 168,886-square-foot Student Union. Work is estimated to be finished by June 2019.

“We’re seeing the need for more collaborative spaces, technology upgrades, and special attention to sustainable operations,” said Jack Hagen, vice president of the Education Division for EW Howell.
