Super Bowl 50, which will take place at the home of the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara on Feb. 7, 2016, already has pricey hotel rooms solidly booked.
Bay Area residents are capitalizing on that, and jumping into the home-hosting business. They are willing to rent out their homes to football fans who are either unable to find a hotel room or can’t afford one.
Many hotel rooms near Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium, and throughout the area, have been booked solid since January.
Hospitality sites such as HomeAway, Airbnb and VRBO.com are all seeing jumps in the amount of people renting out their homes for Super Sunday.
