Tala Takes Space at MTV’s Former Home

Connect Los Angeles is coming up March 21st at the Hotel Indigo Downtown Los Angeles. You can get more information and register on this link.

Savills Studley negotiated a new, long-term lease and simultaneous sublease on behalf of Tala, a leading mobile technology and data science company. Tala is relocating within Santa Monica, and expanding to 30,642 square feet of office space at 1633 26th St., MTV’s former home.

Tala will occupy the top two floors of the three-story building, beginning in April 2019. Transaction terms include expansion rights for the ground floor, signage rights and on-site security. Tala also subleased its former 12,388-square-foot office at 429 Santa Monica Blvd. to flexible workspace provider Knotel.

Savills Studley’s Robert Cavaiola and Shay Bolton represented Tala in the transactions, which were completed in under 60 days. LA Realty Partners’ Hunt Barnett and Chris Houge represented landlord Kilroy Realty.

Cavaiola says, “Tala is experiencing exponential growth. Our challenge was to create an opportunity to house the company’s expanding workforce and dispose of Tala’s current Santa Monica headquarters simultaneously, and within a very short time frame.”
