Target Pays $18 Million for Land Under MA Store

Minneapolis-based Target Corp. paid $18 million to acquire land on which its South Bay Center store in Massachusetts is situated. The retailer also acquired the landlord’s interest in the building, which is located at 7 Allstate Rd. in Dorchester.

The deed for the transaction names Wilmington Trust Co. as owner trustee, and NCC Key Co. as owner participant. Though Target indicated it has no plans to expand on the property, Edens Inc., based in Columbia, SC, has proposed a mixed-use development on 10 acres adjacent to South Bay Center.
