Tax Credits Aid with $98M El Paso Affordable Rental Developments

The Housing Authority of the City of El Paso, along with Investment Builders Inc. and Tropicana Building Corp., were awarded $53.4 million in federal tax credits by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. The credits will help fund development of five affordable apartments throughout the El Paso area, which will be built at a cost of $97.8 million.

The developments consist of:

  • 120-unit Patriot Place, 9500 Kenworthy; HACEP is the developer
  • 104-unit Ridgestone Estates, 11050 Montana Ave.; Investment Builders is the developer
  • 80-unit Anthony Palms, 100 block of Sandia Dr., Anthony, TX; Tropicana Building is the developer
  • 98-unit DeWetter Apartments, 560 Lisbon Ave.; HACEP is spearheading renovations
  • 78-unit Kathy White Apartments, 2500 Mobile Ave.; HACEP is spearheading renovations
