Trammell Crow Co. and its residential subsidiary, High Street Development, unveiled plans for The Block Yard, a 280,000-square-foot, mixed-use development in Austin. Construction on the project will begin in June 2020, and will consist of 302 rental units, 63,800 square feet of office space and approximately 4,200 square feet of ground-floor retail. The office component is expected to open in July 2021, with units ready for occupancy in January 2022.
The Block Yard will be at 2900 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., adjacent to the Capital Metro MLK Light-Rail station in East Austin. The multifamily portion will offer a mix of market-rate and affordable units. Amenities will include a fitness and conference center, pet-friendly lounge and private pool. Office tenants will have access to the fitness and conference centers, as well as outdoor terraces on every floor. Katie Ekstrom and Troy Holme with CBRE are handling leasing for the commercial component.
