Tenants Take Former Sears Space

T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods, stores owned by Massachusetts-based TJX Companies Inc., are taking down 45,000 square feet at the Brazos Mall, located in Lake Jackson, TX. The retailers will be setting up shop in space that formerly housed a Sears store, and are expected to open in October.

The owners, Centennial of Dallas, New York-headquartered Atlantic, and North Shore Properties Group LLC of Illinois, acquired the 97,000-square-foot Brazos Mall at State Highway 332 in November 2015. The partners shuttered the 40-year-old mall in June 2016, and commenced a $25 million redevelopment project, of which the first phase will be completed by fall of this year.

The mall’s redevelopment has been underway for several months, and includes improved interior flooring, energy-efficient lighting, new color schemes and an updated food court.
