The city of Texarkana, TX is continuing to move forward on a Comprehensive Plan, with the next public meeting to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 15. At that time, the city and consultant Halff Associates will present three different scenarios, and will input solicitation from participants, according to Daphnea Ryan with Texarkana’s Planning and Community Development.
Ryan told Connect Media that the first public meeting on Sept. 20, attracted 100 attendees. “They had the opportunity to provide input on Texarkana’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as the direction they would like to see Texarkana go,” she said. Additionally, Halff Associates collected data during the city’s Dine on the Line event, and that data has gone into creating the three scenarios that will be presented Nov. 15. Ryan declined to detail the scenarios until after the meeting.
The Comprehensive Plan is being updated to help guide growth and development in the city for the next 25 years. It will replace the plan that was adopted in 2001.
