The Road Runner-branded convenience stores were originally launched in Texarkana, TX. Though hundreds of stores operated in the southwestern United States, the number is now just a handful. However, Coulson Oil, which bought the brand four years ago from Truman Arnold Co., wants to change that.
Specifically, Coulson is planning two new stores in Texarkana. Additionally, the city will be the starting point for the brand’s expansion. “The Texarkana expansion was always in the back of our minds,” Coulson Oil’s John Harris told the Texarkana Gazette.
The new stores will be at 1632 Richmond Rd. and 4603 W. Seventh St. Ground will break on the stores in May, with openings planned for September.
Little Rock, AR-headquartered Coulson Oil specializes in transportation equipment, fuel and related products. Arkansas has 11 stores, and there are three in Texas, in addition to the ones that will be built in Texarkana.
