Texas Cities Make Emerging Life Science Clusters Top-10 List

Houston, Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth have ranked on CBRE’s Top Emerging Life Sciences Clusters Top-10 list. The ranking came out in the company’s “2019 U.S. Life Sciences Clusters: Markets Positioned for ‘Century of Biology’” report. Houston was ranked second, followed by Austin, while DFW came in seventh place.

According to CBRE, the markets “exhibit an attractive combination of a substantive life science workforce,” which includes key scientists, life sciences employment growth, plenty of NIH funding, top-ranked schools and medical institutions, and a high-tech workforce.

Additionally, Houston and DFW were ranked on CBRE’s Top-10 Fastest-Growing Life Sciences Markets from 2014-2017, and also made the top 20 of Top-Ranked Markets for Medical Research & Health Services.
