Texas Die Casting will remain in the East Texas city of Gladewater for at least another eight years. The aluminum parts maker is staying put as part of an incentive package with Gladewater Economic Development Corp (GEDCO).
The company, which employs approximately 150 workers, opened in 1984. Since opening, it has tripled its manufacturing capabilities. By staying in its 75,000-square-foot plant, the company will remain one of the largest employers in Gladewater. In turn, the GEDCO will help Texas Die Casting improve its management information and manufacturing systems.
GEDCO will work with the company to invest in new computer software that will help automate production and improve efficiencies at its plant at 600 S. Loop 485. So far, City Manager Ricky Tow and GEDCO coordinated with Etex to upgrade telecommunication lines used by the manufacturer.
