Texas’ First Spec Cold Storage Warehouse Construction Begins

Hunt Southwest has begun to build DFW ColdSpot, the first speculative cold storage warehouse in the state of Texas. The 300,000-square-foot development is going north in Carter Industrial Park, on Fort Worth’s south side. The facility at 8200 Will Rodgers Blvd. is scheduled for completion in March 2019, and can serve a single tenant or multiple tenants at 100,000 square feet or more.

“We’ve studied the user demand and the choices they have had for freezer and cooler space in this market over the last 15 years,” said David Sours with CBRE. Sours and colleague Kevin Kelly are marketing the facility on behalf of Hunt Southwest. “We have worked with Hunt Southwest to incorporate the elements that are important to the end user,” Sours added. DFW ColdSpot is situated on just under 19 acres, and offers 45-foot clear height, making it the tallest spec-developed warehouse in Texas.
