When it comes to hot Texas real estate markets, the news tends to focus on either the Dallas-Fort Worth area or in and around Austin. However, according to metrics offered from Realtor.com, the hottest real estate markets in Texas are in — Midland and Odessa. In fact, Midland tops the list at a hotness factor of 97.83, while Odessa, ranked third, has a hotness factor of 97.32.
Meanwhile, the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington MSA was ranked 30th (with a Hotness Index of 82.94), San Antonio-New Braunfels came in at 92nd with a 66.39 Hotness Index and Austin-Round Rock, ranked 140th, had a Hotness Index of 54.01. The Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land MSA, ranked 232nd, was almost glacial, with a Hotness Index of 27.59. According to Realtor.com, the Hotness Index focuses on how local areas are experiencing fast-moving supply and increasing demand.
