The numbers are out for CoreLogic’s Home Price Index (HPI) in July 2019. National single-family home prices increased 3.6% year-over-year, with the state of Texas not far behind, reporting a 3.2% increase. When it came to Texas metros, Houston and Dallas annual rate percentages increased, versus what was reported in June; while percentage decreases were reported in Fort Worth and San Antonio. Austin, in the meantime, remained flat.

Nationally, CoreLogic forecasts an annual price growth increase of 5.4% by July 2020, with older millennials expressing a desire to buy in a very tight housing market.
