Though the Lone Star State might be best known for cowboys (both on the range and the professional football team), in reality, it is an ideal environment for women business owners, as well.
FitSmallBusiness.com, a digital resources company for small businesses, ranked Texas No. 1 when it came to areas including the general business climate and opportunity, the number of women-owned businesses and economic and financial health. “By analyzing each of these, we were able to determine which states not only are well-positioned for startups and new ventures, but specifically, female-owned startups,” the company said.
While Texas ranked in the top 10 in three out of the four categories, it came in 41st out of 50 states in the areas of health, safety, and quality of life.
