The Scene MXU Proposed in Palm Springs

Tahquitz Canyon Investors, LLC received an approval from Palm Springs’ Architectural Advisory Committee to move forward with The Scene, a proposed mixed-use development on Tahquitz Canyon Way. The project would replace The Courtyard, an existing plaza built in 1981.

The current configuration includes three buildings at the center of a seven-acre parcel that once held high-end retail, but over time have been converted to office space or remained vacant. The developer proposes demolishing three low-rise buildings along Tahquitz Canyon Way, and replacing them with two low-slung buildings featuring up to 10 restaurants and bars.

A three-story building behind the new street-side buildings will remain and the project will receive other updates including outdoor lighting and landscaping. The project must still secure city planning commission approval. The developer envisions opening the first restaurant by October 2018.

Coldwell Banker Commercial’s Steve Lyle is pre-leasing the property.
