Former J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. executive Thomas Lawyer joined Transwestern Commercial Services as president. As the firm’s new leader, Lawyer has charge of the company’s 35 nationwide offices, overseeing expansion opportunities, strategic planning and business development.
Lawyer previously served as J.P. Morgan Chase’s Vice Chairman of the Real Estate Banking Group. In that role, he handled real estate banking to top-tier real estate developers, investors, real estate operating companies, investment funds and REITs. He also spent nearly a decade with Citibank, where, as Managing Director, Commercial Real Estate Finance, he oversaw the national origination platform and operations of a national loan portfolio.
Transwestern CEO Larry Heard indicated that Lawyer’s “global perspective on commercial real estate will be of immense value to our firm as we carry out our growth plans and expand client solutions.” He added that the new president’s knowledge and relationships will benefit institutional owners and occupiers, and Transwestern employees.
