Thor Equities, headquartered in New York City, acquired 180 Bedford Ave., a vacant lot in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn for $30 million. The deal closed after a somewhat fractious year and a half between buyer Thor Equities and the Salvation Army, the seller.
With the transaction now closed, the new owner can move forward with plans to build a 14,500-square-foot retail building. The building was designed by Fradkin & McAlpin Architects, and will offer 4,000 square feet each on the ground, second and lower levels. The plan also includes a rooftop terrace, with 2,500 square feet of additional space.
A construction timeline for the project was not disclosed.
