Developer Centurion American Development Group, which acquired the 1.1-million-square-foot Collin Creek Mall in December 2018, unveiled a timeline for the $1 billion redevelopment planned for the property in Plano, TX. Sean Terry with Centurion American told the Dallas Morning News that dirt work should begin in summer. The entire redevelopment will take years to complete.
The DFW developer indicated that it would tear down almost half of the old mall, located at Central Expressway and West Plano Parkway, open up what is left to the outside, and add mixed-use buildings. The $1 billion project will include apartments, hotel rooms, restaurants, office building and entertainment, as well as a water feature.
The redevelopment plan is the first local project of its size to convert a nearly vacant 20th century mall into a mixed-use project. Collin Creek opened in 1980.
