Galleria Dallas owner UBS Asset Management hired Trademark Property Co. in Fort Worth to lease, manage and develop a plan that will evolve the 1.4-million-square-foot Galleria Dallas. Planning will immediately begin with a process that will bring together experts in retail, design, real estate and development, as well as the city of Dallas and community leaders, to determine the future of the iconic mixed-use asset, which sits at Interstate 635 and the Dallas North Tollway.
Galleria Dallas opened in 1982, and was Dallas’ first major suburban mixed-use project. The owner’s goal for its property is “to position it as a leader in the resurgence of the neighborhood, and as a vibrant mixed-use district,” according to Matt Lynch who is head of real estate and private markets at UBS.
UBS acquired the Galleria in 2002 for $300 million and in 2005, acquired the 432-room Westin Hotel attached to the mall.
