Transformation of Ontario Airport Eateries on Menu

A $6-million upgrade to Ontario International Airport’s food offerings is planned by Delaware North. Ontario International Airport Authority approved a five-year lease with the airport food operator, including multiple extension options.

As part of that deal, Delaware North plans to add new eateries to help transform the twin terminals. Slated to open in the next six months are Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, Rock & Brews, Cross Grain, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Harvest and Grounds and Wolfgang Puck.

The airport authorities’ Kelly Fredericks says the changes are part of a “strategic business plan” designed to increase revenues, create more business-related activity and improve the customer experience at the airport. The improvements are estimated to generate $1.18-million in net revenue the first year, and more than $12 million over the next 10 years.

The airport also reported airline passenger traffic increased 6.2% in March 2017, compared with March 2016.
