UCLA and USC are going head to head in more than just football this November. NAIOP SoCal will be hosting its annual UCLA vs. USC Real Estate Challenge on the 19th, as the two five-member teams from each university’s respective business schools battle to win the coveted Silver Shovel, and more importantly, bragging rights.
The competitors will pitch development proposals for a 950,000-square-foot indoor shopping mall, located in the City of Hawthorne. Since 1999, the space has been closed as the booming aerospace industry, which fueled the economy, declined.
The competing students will present their proposals live to a panel of CRE leaders, with CEO and president of CT Realty, James “Watty” Watson, on the mic as host.
