Vocon Emphasizes Employee Productivity in C.H. Robinson Space

Design firm Vocon provided interior design services for C.H. Robinson’s flagship operation center, a four-story, 207,000-square-foot office property that represented the first building in Sterling Bay’s Lincoln Yards development. The tenant, a third-party logistics provider, began moving into the new space at 1515 W. Webster Ave. in late 2018.

Vocon developed an open-office layout, featuring small break-out spaces for group meetings and one-on-one mentoring sessions. The firm employed open corridors and glass throughout the space to maximize light, air and daylight views.

“It was extremely rewarding to partner with C.H. Robinson and its employees to learn how design can support collaboration and productivity, while enhancing the employee experience,” said designer Julie Engstrom. “The design of this offices advances the company’s commitment to employee well-being.”

Vocon worked with SOM to identify ideal massing for the building, placing the cores at each end to maximize openness within the structure.
