German automaker Volkswagen is building a $4.5-million training center at Irvine, CA-based Goodman Birtcher’s Goodman Commerce Center, a planned logistics, business park and retail development in Eastvale, CA. It is the same 205-acre, mixed-use project in which Amazon is building a million-square-foot fulfillment center.
The 65,000-square-foot training facility will house technical, collision repair and sales training for Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche. The company says this is the first time all three brands will be together in such a facility.
The training center is slated to open in the first quarter of 2017. It is also expected to bring in high-tech jobs and above-average wages to the Inland Empire.
