Houston-based Wan Bridge (WB), a developer, builder and manager of build-to-rent (BTR) communities, plans to build the first build-to-rent community, Palm Bay, on Galveston Island after purchasing bay-accessible land in the existing Bayside at Waterman’s community. The new BTR community will feature 94 single-family detached homes in the neighborhood’s primary section.
“As the BTR model of single-family homes continues to gain popularity, it is changing the way of how we look at what is possible in residential real estate and in this case, even beach front and bayside communities have the opportunity to embrace this change,” said Kevin Stuckey, SVP of development for Wan Bridge.
Palm Bay will feature both three- and four-bedrooms options with 2.5 bathrooms and living areas spanning 1,600 to 1,800 square feet. In addition to the traditional single-family options, WB will build more than 20 condominiums located in the neighborhood’s “Fish Camp Reserve.”
