Wesley Palms, a notorious retirement community near Mt. Soledad, is getting some upgraded facilities.
Owner Front Porch Retirement Communities is pumping $68 million into the renovation, which will include the rebuilding of 150 cottage units on the site, an HVAC upgrade, landscaping improvements, a bistro, and other amenities.
The facility opened in 1962 on the western slopes of Soledad. The original developer was Methodist Church’s Pacific Homes. Some units are very small, as little at 435 square feet, and the hope is that the asset will be more ADA compliant.
