Lincoln Property Co. is redeveloping the former Colorado Place at 2242 Fort Worth Ave. into a 299-unit apartment with retail. Nor is Lincoln Property the only developer putting up units in the neighborhood just west of downtown Dallas.
Massively high Uptown apartment prices are driving renters to less-expensive options. According to Steve Bancroft with Trammell Crow Residential (which just opened Alexan West Dallas), renters have saved $400-$500 a month versus new properties in uptown.
Other developers building in the area include Centre Living Homes, Alliance Residential, Columbus Realty, and StreetLights Residential.
