Julie A. Johnson is a principal with Avison Young in Phoenix, and has been a foremost leader in healthcare real estate for more than 25 years. In fact, she was one of the first brokers in her market to identify the opportunity for a specialization in healthcare real estate. Last year, she was also named a co-leader of AY’s company-wide health care practice group.
In this expanded company role, Johnson is growing the firm’s healthcare business-line coverage. Additionally, she provides a conduit between AY’s boots-on-the-ground service providers and its broad corporate platform, with the goal of growing the firm’s healthcare footprint within all key markets.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Johnson as one of the 2018 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
About 10 years ago, Johnson started Healthcare Chicks Happy Hour, a group that has grown to approximately 250 members connected to the healthcare industry. The group meets monthly and industry leaders sponsor the event.
Johnson is not only a strong leader in the healthcare community, but is also a prolific leader in AY’s Phoenix office. In an industry where corporate culture is often centered around individual accomplishments, she exemplifies AY’s value of collaboration, through mentoring and other avenues.
